1.  For purposes of Section 30 of the Medical Act, the Council may instruct the Registrar to register the following on the Medical Specialists Register:

  1. Physicians certified in a specialty by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada;
  2. Physicians certified in a specialty by the Collège des médecins du Québec;
  3. Physicians certified in a specialty by a member board of the American Board of Medical Specialties;
  4. Such other physicians as Council may recognize as specialists at its sole discretion.

 2.  Classes of designated specialties shall, as close as possible, correspond to those recognized by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

3.  Any action by a member, or by Council, which affects a member's registration and licensure on the Medical Register shall have the same force and effect on the member's registration and licensure on the Medical Specialists Register, unless Council directs otherwise.
