Section 51
51 Nothing in this Act applies to or prevents
(a) a physician or surgeon entitled to practise medicine in any other province or country, from consulting in New Brunswick with a medical practitioner or osteopathic practitioner who holds a licence;
(b) the practise of medicine by a physician or surgeon employed by the Government of Canada in course of his employment by that Government;
(c) the domestic administration of family remedies;
(d) the furnishing of first aid or emergency assistance in the case of emergency, if such aid or assistance is given without hire, gain, or hope of reward;
(e) the manufacture, fitting or selling of artificial limbs, or similar appliances;
(f) the practice of optometry by a person who is licensed under the Optometry Act, 1978;
(g) the practice of nursing assistant by a person who is registered under the Registered Nursing Assistants Act;
(h) the practice of occupational therapy by a person who is licensed under the Occupational Therapy Act;
(i) the practice of dentistry or dental surgery by a person who is registered under the New Brunswick Dental Act 1985;
(j) the practice of dispensing optician by a person who is registered under an Act to Incorporate The New Brunswick Guild of Dispensing Opticians;
(k) the practice of denturology by a person who is licensed under the Denturists' Act;
(l) the practice of psychology by a person who is licensed under The College of Psychologists Act;
(m) the practice of chiropractic by a person who is registered under The Chiropractors Act, 1997;
(n) the practice of pharmacy by a person who is registered under The Pharmacy Act;
(o) the practice of radiological technology by a person registered under the Radiological Technicians Act 1958; or the Medical Radiation Technologists Act;
(p) the practice of dental technology by a person registered under The Dental Technicians Act, 1957;
(q) the practice of nursing by a person registered under the Nurses Act;
(r) the practice of physiotherapy by a person registered under the Physiotherapy Act 1985;
(s) the practice of speech-language pathology or audiology by a person authorized to practice speech-language pathology or audiology under the provisions of the Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Act; or,
(t) the practice of medical laboratory technology by a person registered under the Medical Laboratory Technology Act.
